A Musical Duo
Jennifer and Jason met at The University of Houston in October, 2003. Jennifer was studying opera and music as a vocal major. Jason was a skilled guitarist majoring in mechanical engineering. After spotting a flier advertising for band members, Jason emailed Jennifer, and they scheduled an audition. Obviously, the audition went well, as the two were married on September 30, 2006. Since then they have written many songs, performed many concerts, and had three beautiful little girls.
About Jenn
Jennifer is a home-schooling mom of three young girls from Texas. She began taking piano lessons at the age of 7 when she lived in Memphis, Tennessee. By the time Jennifer reached high school, her piano teacher was Timothy Hester of the University of Houston, Moores School of Music. But Dr. Hester spotted Jennifer’s vocal talents when he heard her play an original song for him. He referred her to soprano and opera instructor, Joan Gibbons. While Jennifer was studying opera at university, she spent her spare time at the legendary Sugarhill Recording Studios and in the music studio with producer M.D. Thompson. There she recorded her debut album, At The Back of the North Wind.
About Jason
Jason is a mechanical engineer by profession and a classical guitarist and epic metal producer by night. He has played many charitable classical guitar concerts at Texas Children’s Hospital and various Houston area hospices and retirement centers. Orisonata is Jason’s debut progressive symphonic metal release. Similar artists include Within Temptation, Nightwish, Leaves Eyes, Lacuna Coil, Ayreon, Dream Theater, and Tarja Turunen. The incorporation of incredible saxophone solos, jazz piano, and dramatic female vocals make Orisonata stand out among their prog metal band peers.
