I’m excited to announce that I have a new book in the works with Multnomah, an imprint of Penguin Random House. We’re just beginning the writing and editing, and plan to publish in 2023. You’ve no doubt heard of many Multnomah authors, including Tim Tebow, Winn Collier, Eugene Peterson, Wendy Alsup, John Piper, and Louie Giglio (who by coincidence released a book called Not Forsaken around the same time I did!)
What’s the new book about?
This world is broken. We see sin, sorrow, and death all around us. It divides our communities. It tears apart our families. Particularly in the past few weeks, we’ve witnessed the unfathomable depths of evil, and the immeasurable grief it brings.
So, how do we, as Christians, understand and handle our sorrow and anxiety? Are feelings such as fear, sadness, and worry really signs of weak faith and sin? Or are these emotions a piece of God’s image in us, used by God to draw us closer to him?
In my upcoming book, we’ll explore how Jesus weeps with us, how God is near to the brokenhearted, and how we are promised that – even as we walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death – we have a joy set before us that nothing in this world can hinder.
