Psalm 23: The Reading Aloud Mom Version

This is how Psalm 23 goes when you’re reading to a 3 year old, a 1 year old, and a 3 month old:

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want,
If you get ketchup on my Bible I’ll be upset.

He leads me beside the still waters,
He restores my soul.
Why are you counting?
Stop counting.
Yes I know there are numbers on the verses but that’s not what they’re for.
He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name sake.
Yay, though I walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death
I will fear no evil,
Don’t you dare give peanut butter to the baby.
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
Do you have to poop?
Then sit down.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Don’t tell your sister she’s yucky.
I know she has jelly on her hands and face.
Just don’t let her touch you. I’ll deal with it in a minute.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
Why would you take Baby’s diaper off?
Stop it. Be quiet now.
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.
Amen.
