New Year’s Eve with Elowyn, December 31, 2014
As a creative person I wear so many hats. There are just so many things I’m interested in! It used to be that I loved nothing more than composing songs, performing concerts, and writing stories. Now, don’t get me wrong, I still LOVE those things, but motherhood has changed me. In addition to music and writing, I also love doing craft activities and baking with my little girls, decorating our home, scrapbooking, and crocheting blankets that I rarely finish.
What can I say? I’m a Musical Mommy. A Domestic Diva. A Singing SAHM. A Crafty Composer. A Harmonizing Housewife. A Wordsmithing WAHM. A Scrapbooking Songbird. A Crocheting Chanteuse. A Poetic Painting Pianist. A Dulcet Diaper-Changer. A Modge-Podging Matriarch. A DIY Decorating Damsel in a Domicile.
OK I’ll stop now.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that over the past few years I’ve been undergoing a spiritual rebranding. I used to dream about being a diva on stage under the lime light. Now I dream about teaching my girls to sing and play piano, and being more involved in the music ministry at our church. That’s not to say I’m not interested in performing concerts again or returning to the studio.

In fact, I have an album (Once Upon A Time) that’s 99% finished, and is just waiting for a final polish so I can release it. But my interests and aspirations are so much more now … They may not be as glamorous or eclectic, but they’re deeper, more diverse, and I daresay more meaningful.
Children change you. Love changes you. I used to think that maturity came with age, but as it turns out, maturity comes with loving others. I’m very excited to grow during this new season of my life, and share my experiences with you here on my blog.
Be forewarned though, you’re going to see a lot more crafts, home décor projects, creative writing, recipes, poetry, and mommy madness.
I’m also planning a few very special concerts this year though, so stay tuned! I’ll be sure to invite you <3
