I am VERY excited to announce that my husband, Jason Lee Greenberg, is officially releasing his debut album, Orisonata, this week! He’s been working off and on for the past six years at perfecting and recording these songs. Last year, he teamed up with my producer, MD Thompson of Ivory Tower Productions in Houston, and they captured many of the remaining instrumental tracks, and of course, vocals!
I had the honor of writing or co-writing lyrics for a number of the songs, including The Great Baptism, Robin Hood, and The Muses. For those of you who share my penchant for literature, you’ll be happy to know that many of the songs on the album are inspired by legend, mythology, stories from the Old Testament, and of course two very fabulous Jules Verne and Mary Shelley books. I’m not going to reveal which songs are which because I want you to enjoy listening and making the discovery yourself!
You can hear snippets of the tracks at www.Orisonata.com, and two full length songs (The Muses and Unholy Creation) in the website music player at the base of each page. For my friends and colleagues who enjoy reviewing albums and covering music news in their column, blogs, podcasts, and shows, please email me and I’ll send you the password to unlock our EPK and download the tracks for free.
If I were going to compare Orisonata to other metal artists, I’d say Nightwish, Stream of Passion, Within Temptation, or Tarja Turunen. For those more familiar with mainstream rock music, I’d say the closest comparisons would be Evanescence, Muse, and “if-Sarah-Brightman-really-rocked-out!” Guest artists on the album include my good friends, classical saxophonist Todd Oxford and jazz pianist Pamela York. Both are internationally touring and highly respected artists. It’s humbling to be able to work alongside them!
So far, the album as had a soft release on CD Baby and www.Orisonata.com, but will shortly be available through Amazon, Spotify, and other major retailers. You can nab it before it hits the big stores by downloading it here.
